Being Full of Life

BEING FULL OF LIFE

Introduction

You may have heard ladies shouting with excitement, “The baby is cute!” Usually, they’re admiring a baby that is not just physically beautiful, but full of life — glowing, chubby, healthy, and full of joy. Such a baby has been well breastfed, cared for, cleaned, and loved. The parent makes sure the child is bathed, dressed, and pampered, regardless of how many times the baby soils itself. Whether the baby urinates or defecates multiple times a day, the love of the parent never fades.

What’s the secret behind such care and devotion? The relationship. There’s a strong bond between the parent and the baby. And as the child grows older and starts to play—running off to the muddy puddles, sand, and even rolling in dirty places—the parent still welcomes the child back and cleans them up.

But what happens when that closeness fades? When the child stays away, never returns home, and no longer has that parent to clean and care for them? They become dirty, unhealthy, and even unrecognizable. That image brings to mind the story of the prodigal son in the Bible. He was once a valued member of his family. But the day he chose to leave and follow his own way—thinking that material wealth was all he needed—his life turned into shame. He wasted everything in wild living and ended up feeding on pig food. Why? Because he left the source of his life and identity.

Life Flows From God

The same truth applies to us. Man’s life is in God. Just as fish cannot survive outside of water, human beings cannot truly live when disconnected from God. Try taking a fish out of water — it gasps, struggles, and dies in seconds. That is exactly what happens to our soul when we cut off our relationship with God.

Many people are living under an illusion that they can “do life” on their own terms. The world’s system will tell you that all you need is money, a big house, flashy cars, and wild parties. That if you can smoke, drink, and enjoy life, then you are truly living. But here’s the truth: life without God is not life at all.

The Bible says in Proverbs 10:2, “Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.” The wealth of an evil man becomes the source of his downfall. We see this in the story of the rich fool who stored up all his wealth and said to himself, “Now I can relax.” But God called him a fool and told him that his life would be taken that very night. What good did his wealth do?

You can acquire all the material things of this world, but they can never bring lasting satisfaction, peace, or eternal life. Only God gives life that satisfies. He is the driving force behind every successful, meaningful, and joyful life.

Don’t Disconnect from the Source

You cannot live a fruitful life when you’re disconnected from God. Even Adam, the first man, lost his authority, power, and paradise (the Garden of Eden) when he sinned and broke fellowship with God. One act of disobedience led to so much loss — not just for him, but for the whole human race.

That’s why you must never allow yourself to be outside the presence of God. Don’t lose your “garden” — your peace, your purpose, your identity — because of a wrong decision. God wants to keep you in a place where He can find you, bless you, feed you, and protect you.

He’s calling you today — just like in Isaiah 55:1“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!…” God is inviting you to His city of life. A place of peace, abundance, joy, and eternal purpose.

Stay in Him. Live in Him.

Jesus made it clear in John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

Jesus is the true life of man. Without Him, we are nothing but dry branches—easily broken, burned, or forgotten. But in Him, we thrive. In Him, we shine. In Him, we bear fruit that lasts.

If you truly desire to be full of life, you must be in a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That is where true life begins and never ends.

Conclusion

Life is not just about breathing and moving. Life is about being connected to your true source—God. Just like a baby is full of life when close to the mother, and just like a fish thrives in water, you thrive in God.

Don’t let the noise and deception of the world disconnect you from your source. Don’t wait until you’re feeding with pigs like the prodigal son before you realize what you lost. Come back to the Father. He’s waiting.

Stay in Him. Live in Him. Let your joy, strength, and purpose flow from Him. That’s what it means to be Full of Life.
