The Power Behind Addiction and Unnatural Tendencies
Introduction
There are ways of life that are clearly destructive, yet many people cling to them as if their survival depends on them. This is the tragic picture of a person enslaved by his own urges, feelings, and emotions. When a human being lets these inner drives run wild, they don’t just mislead—they destroy. Like a man walking blindly into a pit, so is the one whose life is controlled by fleshly desires.
Take for example, the man dying of liver cirrhosis, yet refuses to stop drinking. It started with a simple taste, now he gulps down a whole 20-liter jerrycan by himself. Or the young man who was introduced to an “adult” video by a friend—what began as curiosity turned into a daily obsession with explicit content. Feelings, urges, and emotions may seem natural, even harmless, but when they are unchecked, they become deadly traps. The more a person tries to satisfy these urges outside God’s principles, the stronger they grow—devouring both body and soul. Depression, suicide, diseases, addictions, and even death are often the dark rewards of surrendering to the demands of uncontrolled lust and desire.
Lust, by nature, is a pit that never fills up. You pour in your life, your strength, your money—and it keeps demanding more. Though lust looks physical, its root is deeply spiritual, yet it works through the body’s natural components. One of the key ways it operates is through sight—both the natural sight of the eyes and the inner sight of the mind.
The Manipulator of Man
For generations, Satan has mastered the art of controlling man. Both spiritually and physically, he knows how to twist the environment and man’s inner makeup to trap him. It was a simple act of desiring the forbidden fruit that led to mankind’s fall. The Bible says Eve “saw that the fruit was good,” but that sight came after the serpent painted a convincing picture with his words.
Now, as the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4), Satan continues to manipulate the natural world to affect the spiritual state of man. He uses what we see, hear, and feel to stir desires that pull people away from God.
One great manipulation is through a chemical called dopamine—a neurotransmitter produced by brain cells that motivates behavior. Dopamine is the brain’s “feel-good” chemical. It is released when we experience pleasure: eating a delicious meal, getting praised, having fun. But there are certain activities that trigger an excessive release of dopamine, overloading the brain’s systems. This overstimulation can lead to brain damage, addiction, and even death. Some people die in hotel rooms after overdosing on substances like Viagra—not realizing their brain’s pleasure circuits have been pushed beyond safe limits.
Even animals demonstrate this. In one study, a male rat placed in a cage with a female rat would mate with her. Afterward, the female was replaced with a new one, and again, the male would mate. This continued until the male rat literally died of exhaustion. The novelty of each new partner triggered repeated dopamine spikes, driving behavior until it killed the rat. In other words, when people discover new ways to chase a certain feeling, it triggers a release of the dopamine. This makes them crave more, and before they know it, they are trapped in a cycle of addiction.
That’s exactly what happens with those hooked on smoking, drinking, masturbation, pornography, and sexual immorality. They’re constantly searching for the next thrill—whether it’s explicit websites, celebrity photos, risky adventures, strip clubs or new brands of cigarettes and drinks. Each new experience feeds the craving and it’s like the old experience can’t produce results.
But here’s the truth: these are not just physical habits. They are battles in the mind. That is why people stuck in these cycles often struggle with depression, anger, isolation, and in the worst cases—they may even turn to violence or suicide.
Addiction isn’t just a problem of the body. It’s a deep struggle in the mind—and it wounds the soul.
This shows us a hard truth—not everything that feels exciting or motivating is good. Some pleasures are nothing more than slow-acting poison disguised as fun.
The World’s Trap
Today’s world is a breeding ground for this manipulation. The environment is crafted to excite the eyes and provoke hidden desires. From make-up that turns the elderly into youthful beauties, to artificial body enhancers like butt boosters and breast enlargements—everything screams for attention. But behind the glitter is a corrupted drive: the craving to be worshiped and adored.
There are rumors that some vaccines on the market might boost the X-chromosome—the one linked to female traits. Could this be part of the reason why more men today feel like they were born in the wrong body?
Yet the world keeps telling us something else— that people like this were “born that way” and can become whatever they feel like. Some even go as far as changing their private parts to match how they feel inside. What’s even more worrying is this—even some men who still say they’re male act soft, tender, with shiny lips, pretty and pinky beautiful. It is hard to tell the difference anymore.
We’ve even seen the rise of unnatural tendencies—men marrying animals, bizarre relationships celebrated in public, and perversions once unthinkable now paraded with pride. As Jude 1:7-8 warns, these actions echo the rebellion of Sodom and Gomorrah, chasing after strange flesh, defying natural order, and storing up judgment.
It is clear that the devil behind the evil men and women in the pharmaceutical industry are overworking. The main agenda is to corrupt the flesh of man and lead the human race to destruction.
Everything we do in the physical has an impact on our mind and spirit. When Adam and Eve fell, God made garments of animal skin for them—not just to cover naked bodies, but as a temporary solution for their fallen minds.
It all started in the mind. Clothes may cover the body, but they offer a temporary shield for the mind. That’s why when people walk around half-naked, it grabs attention—they’re not just showing skin, they’re stirring thoughts, awakening desires buried deep inside others. The covering is symbolic—a reminder that man, once clothed in innocence, now needed help to guard both body and mind.
Today, many walk around unaware to how they are being used by the enemy—whether through what they wear, how they act, or the desires they entertain. But there is hope.
The Victory in Christ
What was lost in Eden is restored in Christ. Ephesians 6:17 speaks of the helmet of salvation—God’s provision to protect our minds from Satan’s attacks. With the Word of God as our shield, we can stand against every temptation, every addiction, every destructive urge.
No matter how dark this world becomes, victory is possible when we walk with Christ. His truth renews the mind, guards the heart, and empowers us to live free from the chains of sin.
Conclusion
Addiction and unnatural tendencies are not just bad habits—they are spiritual chains forged by unchecked desires. The devil uses both internal urges and external environments to enslave people, leading them down a path of destruction. But there is freedom in Jesus Christ. He offers a new way of life where the mind is renewed, desires are purified, and the heart finds true satisfaction.
Don’t be a victim of fleeting pleasures that lead to ruin. Choose life. Choose Christ. And let your mind and body be guided by His truth, not by the deceiving whispers of the world.
